System Engineer

Hi, we are ShipMonk and we provide logistics services in the field of order fulfillment. Our main business is in the USA, but Prague is the center of the development of our modern platform.

ShipMonk is the place where a variety of systems integrate - online tools, our cloud applications, warehouse automation management systems, and more. The Systems Engineering team is responsible for all internal systems and how they work.

We are looking for a colleague who understands the principles of system administration, is a fan of automation, and has a desire to improve their scripting skills. We are looking for an engineer who is proactive, adaptable, and ready to take on challenges in a fast-paced environment, with a strong commitment to supporting team members and collaborating across departments. 

What you will do:

• Manage secure access with SSO, MFA, and user lifecycle, enforcing security policies
• Oversee user accounts, groups, security settings, and resources to enhance collaboration and data protection
• Deploy, configure, and secure devices remotely, ensuring compliance and efficient device management
• Automate workflows and create custom scripts to enhance productivity and reduce manual tasks
• Provides technical support for hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations in the office

What you will need:

• Proficiency in managing user authentication, SSO, and MFA in Okta.
• Experience with device enrollment, configuration, and security using MDM (Kandji, Miradore, SimpleMDM)
• Advanced knowledge of scripting languages for automation tasks and workflow improvements.
• Strong analytical skills for diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues efficiently.
• Knowledge of security policies, risk management, and compliance requirements relevant to the tools.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

What does it look like and what are we proud of?

We already have 70 apps fully integrated with Okta, with more pending in the backlog.

• We deploy and use device management systems for Apple, Windows and Linux
• We collaborate closely with other teams, primarily IT, HR, and Operations, with about half of these colleagues based in the US.
• Based on risk management principles, we implement a security strategy that supports our company's business goals and daily operations.
• We continuously elevate our automation standards to reduce repetitive tasks across all teams, prioritizing code-driven automation and development best practices to raise our technical bar.
• Making security a key topic and skill among employees and management will certainly be one of our shared challenges.
